8” Chef Knife
Regarded by most chef’s as the most important knife in the kitchen, the 8” chef’s knife is sufficiently powerful to take the fatigue out of chopping, dicing, cutting up larger pieces of vegetables and pieces of meat in the kitchen. Its wide evenly curved blade and sharpness makes mincing garlic, fresh herbs and such like, into light work.
6” Chef Knife
A more compact version of the 8” chef’s knife, the 6” is ideally suited to chopping harder items such as root vegetables and harder cuts of meat with bone. For optimum comfort the knife has a forged bolster where the handle joins the blade.
7” Filleting/Boning Knife
With its long, slender and razor sharp blade, the filleting knife was specifically designed for boning and filleting. Its flexible blade allows it to remain in contact with the contours of the fish during the filleting process. The handle is of a generous size with a slip resistant grip, providing the chef with accurate control.
5” Utility Knife
Used in various preparation tasks such as trimming the excess fat from meat, French trimming a rack of lamb or other slicing jobs – slicing tomatoes, onions, ginger, garlic, salami etc. The utility knife can be used for a range of jobs that do not require the heavier blade of the chef’s knife.
3.5” Paring Knife
The small and sharp blade of the paring knife is ideally suited for peeling, slicing, coring and mincing smaller fruits and vegetables. The benefits of this knife are especially apparent when peeling soft skinned items such as peaches or apricots. Control of the blade during such delicate work is enabled via the well proportioned handle and its forged bolster (where the handle joins the blade).
9” Bread Knife
The scalloped edged bread knife is an extremely useful took to have in the kitchen. The long blade cuts even slices of bread without tearing, it is also great for cutting semi-soft cheeses, larger fruits such as melons and pineapples as well as citrus fruit, aubergines and much more.
Long Prong Fork
The use of the long prong fork is the best method for stabilising joints of meat or poultry during carving. It is also useful for turning pieces of meat roasting in the oven or transferring larger pieces to and from the cooking pot.
